Water Retention Landscapes for a Resilient Future

Rainwalk Design & Mapping offers regenerative land design and precision mapping services across British Columbia. We utilize efficient technology and ecological planning to restore and manage landscapes for clients ranging from small acreage holders, to commercial production and conservation operations.

Our work

From detailed site analysis to installation, we’ll create a collaborative design and management plan tailored to you, and your landscape.

Water Retention Earthworks

Multi-purpose ponds, constructed wetlands & conservation channels. We install water-harvesting earthworks to infiltrate & collect for drought resistance & biodiversity enhancement.

Regenerative Plant Systems

We establish resilient systems—from high-yielding tree crops & living hedgerows to drought-tolerant xeriscapes—that balance productivity with ecological health.

Geospatial Mapping

We use advanced drone and GNSS workflows to capture hyper-accurate spatial data, grounding your planning & projects with current site conditions.

  • "Milo did a full permaculture design of the front part of our property in 2020/21, set up a large rainwater catchment and irrigation system (both front and back) developed berms and swales, and planted several areas. Milo is a creative and solutions-oriented designer, who worked with and around the significant limitations of our property (including lots of rock!). He is also a great teacher and inspired me to do my own Permaculture Design Certificate course. Milo is a hard worker (did I mention lots of rock?!) and brings a ton of practical skills, from rainwater system installation to fruit tree grafting and pruning. Finally, he has a good network and put us in touch with other helpful resources on Salt Spring (arborist, carpenter, soil delivery, etc.). Our garden is still going strong and I learned a ton from Milo. Highly recommend!"

  • "Milo’s work speaks for itself, but in case you’re not familiar, I’m here to tell you - you couldn’t hire a better person for the job! Rainwalk care deeply about their craft, and will go above and beyond to make sure your project is not only done right, but done exceptionally well. Having worked in the construction sector for over a decade it is refreshing to find talented and hardworking individuals like Milo out there leading the way in their chosen industry. Reliable, polite, knowledgeable, good communication start to finish, and just an all around great company."

  • "Milo has worked on my property for a few years setting up a significant / complicated irrigation system. He also fixed up someone else's work on that system. His work is outstanding & his troubleshooting skills are fantastic. He works diligently and is great to be around. You can give him an idea of what to do and he'll do a better job than you could ever dream up. I couldn't encourage you enough to work w/ Milo and his crew - they are amazing."

  • "Milo is such a pleasure to work with. He's full of knowledge, has a beautiful design sense, and is open and supportive of your needs and wants for your site. I've had the pleasure of working with him for several years now and I highly recommend him."

  • "Milo has done two installations for my family and I on our small property, one with a focus on drought-tolerant, native, pollinator-friendly plantings, and the other being a woodland, shade-loving garden. For both projects, Milo made us a very detailed planting plan based on our specific site and our vision, and guided us to choose the species and design that would really flourish with low-maintenance care, and, time. We absolutely love these vibrant, luscious and abundant gardens and find that as time goes by, they offer so much for both people and pollinators, and are spaces that provide interest and beauty in every season. Whether you are an accomplished gardener or new to planting & growing, I would highly recommend consulting with Milo & Rainwalk Design, as you will have an incredibly experienced guide to help plan your installation based on so many critical considerations that you really don't want to overlook. If you are creating a garden space that you want to enjoy for many years to come and that will result in an abundant eco-system that will enhance the health and well-being of not just you and your family, but also that of the creatures that you share your precious green spaces with, get in touch with Milo."
